Addressing the graduates, Carl Bistany said: “I urge you to remember that no matter where your dreams and plans may take you, you are one of the very privileged individuals chosen by destiny to receive a world-class, SABIS® education.  In fact, every year thousands of students apply for a very limited number of seats in SABIS® PPP schools.  Not everyone is chosen, but you were, so make the absolute most of it.  Take up the torch that has been passed to you to help shape your country and ensure that future generations will continue to have access to the same high-quality education that will open so many doors for you.”

The first ever Sardam International School commencement ceremony was held on June 19, 2019. The Duhok Governor, Dr. Farhad Ameen, the General Director of Duhok Education, Mr. Omar Ali Taha, and SABIS® President, Mr. Carl Bistany were among the VIP guests who witnessed the proud moment as 18 graduating students crossed the stage to obtain their diplomas.

Sardam International School, Class of 2019

The history of SABIS® in Kurdistan dates back to 2006, with the opening of the International School of Choueifat – Erbil. Following the success of this private school, His Excellency then Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani set out on an ambitious mission to develop a high standard of education in the public schooling system.  He also sought to provide all students, not just those who could afford private schooling, with the high-quality education that SABIS® offers. This ambitious mission led to the birth of the SABIS® Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG). Today, there are seven SABIS® PPP schools — Fakhir Mergasori International School, Sardam International School, Sarwaran International School, Kalar International School, Soran International School, Suleimaniah International School, and Zakho International School — in Kurdistan.

We wish the SABIS® PPP classes of 2019 the best of luck!

Congratulations to the SABIS® PPP graduating classes of 2019
