The SABIS^® Global Leadership Conference was held in Lisbon, Portugal, this year and brought together close to 100 school directors, senior SABIS^® staff, and SABIS^® board members for three days of presentations, meetings, discussions, and breakout sessions under the theme “Maintaining our Edge.”

In his opening Keynote Address, SABIS^® Chairman Carl Bistany set the tone for the conference in commenting that: “The rapid rate of change and the role that technology is playing in how things change, bring some remarkable opportunities for our graduates. But they must be ready and able to take full advantage of them.  And that’s where a SABIS^® education is key. That is where our graduates have the edge through a balance of academics, life preparation, and self-development.”

Throughout the three days, participants engaged in a rich and informative agenda that was carefully curated to include topics such as “Key Tools for Academic Success”, “Shattering Myths in Education”, and “Nurturing a Thriving Academic Environment”, among other topics.  In keeping with the times, special presentations and discussions on the rapidly evolving world of Artificial Intelligence and its use in education as well as key steps to protect SABIS^®’s intellectual property were extremely informative and animated.

Participants left the meeting well-prepared for the year ahead and with clear action plans to continue to ensure that our students continue to benefit from a top-quality education that prepares them for success and gives them an edge in the future.
