
Graduation ceremonies around the network are a true reflection of the times and differ depending on local rules and regulations regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While some schools were able to hold in-person ceremonies, others organized virtual ceremonies to mark this major milestone in their students’ lives.
In Frankfurt, Germany, ISF International School Frankfurt Rhein-Main, member of the global SABIS® Network, welcomed graduates and a limited number of staff members in the school auditorium for the graduation ceremony, which it streamed online for family members and friends to watch live. The Class of 2021 at the Leila C. Saad SABIS® School El-Metn, one of the first tuition-free, private schools for low-income families in Lebanon, had quite a lot to celebrate. The four graduates have gained acceptances to leading universities in Lebanon and Germany to pursue degrees in medicine, biochemistry, computer sciences, and mechanical engineering.
In the U.S., The International School of Minnesota also held an intimate graduation ceremony on campus. A number of graduates were in attendance while others did not participate in-person due to ongoing COVID-19 disruptions.
In Kurdistan, The International School of Choueifat – Erbil held its ceremony outdoors in the school playground, taking all COVID-19 precautionary measures including social distancing and face-masks.
In the U.A.E., The International School of Choueifat – Al Ain in the U.A.E. held its graduation ceremony via Zoom for its 53 graduates, all donned in their graduation caps and gowns.
The International School of Choueifat – Dubai held its ceremony at the spectacular Dubai Opera. The event was attended by members of staff and parents as well as the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, His Excellency Brigadier General Abdul Rahim bin Shafil, Director of the esteemed Barsha Police Station.
