The third week of November is global Bullying Awareness Week. It is a time to promote awareness and understanding of bullying and its impact in schools.
To mark the occasion, SABIS® Student Life Organization (SLO) prefects held ongoing bullying prevention campaigns across the Network to raise awareness on the harmful effects of bullying, explain how to recognize the signs, and actively work on preventing bullying before it happens.
Schools within the SABIS® Network adopted their own unique approaches to drive the message home.
The ISF International School Frankfurt Rhein-Main, a SABIS® school in Germany, launched the campaign with an “Odd Socks” theme. Students came into school wearing mis-matching socks to make a statement about embracing differences and being kind to people instead of bullying them for being unique.
The International School of Choueifat – Cairo, a SABIS® school in Egypt kicked off the campaign with an awareness about how to spot bullying. Students dressed up as detectives and were taught to identify the different forms of bullying so they can take appropriate action.
At ISC-Lahore, a SABIS® school in Pakistan, students prepared a podcast on the topic of bullying. Click play to listen to the podcast.
Ultimately, the objective of the campaigns is to raise awareness that bullying has no place in SABIS® schools.
