SABIS® International School Aljada (SIS-Aljada) is the newest addition to the global network of SABIS® schools. Located within the Aljada megaproject in the heart of New Sharjah that is being developed by Arada, SIS-Aljada is the second SABIS® school in Sharjah, along with The International School of Choueifat - Sharjah, and the fifteenth in the U.A.E.
A great start
SIS-Aljada opened its doors at the start of the 2021-22 academic year. The decision to open a second school in the Emirate of Sharjah in the U.A.E. was made in response to growing demand from parents and a long waiting list of students eager to enroll in ISC-Sharjah.
In its first year, SIS-Aljada welcomed 307 students in Pre-K through Grade 5. The school will continue to grow, opening up to Grade 8 in the 2022-23 academic year until reaching a full K-12 offering.
A State-of-the-Art Campus
The SIS-Aljada brand-new, state-of-the-art campus is located on a 61,000 m2 plot on the south-eastern corner of the Ajada project, adjacent to the East Village residential community. It offers state-of-art facilities including spacious classrooms, science and computer laboratories, and a library, as well as a theater that can accommodate over 500 guests and a cafeteria that serves hot and cold nutritious meals. The school also boasts extensive sports facilities including a semi-Olympic-sized swimming pool, an indoor basketball/tennis/multipurpose court, and an Olympic-sized soccer field surrounded by a running track.

Online Learning During COVID-19
Thanks to the comprehensive SABIS® digital ecosystem, SIS-Aljada students can seamlessly switch to an online learning environment during any disruption to school life caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The SABIS® E-Learning solution includes a strong and coherent digital curriculum that is supported by a wealth of digital E-learning content; structured pedagogical methodologies that allow our teachers to deliver the curriculum in any environment; a safe and reliable IT infrastructure; and the ability to continuously assess and follow-up with students.
Active Student Life
All students across the global SABIS® school Network are strongly encouraged to join the SABIS Student Life Organization® (SLO®) at their school and play an active role in their school community. Despite their young age — SIS-Aljada students currently range from 3+ to 13 years of age — they have embraced Student Life and eagerly volunteer for a wide variety of roles within SLO®.
In addition to giving students the chance to experience an active and engaging life at school through SLO®, SABIS® Aljada also offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Sports activities include Taekwondo, football (soccer), swimming, tennis, gymnastics, and ballet. The school also offers music, arts and crafts, and a number of clubs that students can join.
Year-Round Activities and Events
There is always a special event being celebrated at SIS-Aljada! So far this year, the school celebrated National Day, Flag Day, World Soil Day, and Students’ Day and organized a Teddy Bear Picnic. These events create a very special atmosphere, ensuring that students are always engaged and involved in school life.
