School closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the education of close to 1.5 billion students globally last academic year (2019-20). As a result, many external exams that determine university acceptances for students around the world, such as AP^®s, SATs, and A-Levels, were either cancelled or conducted under unusual conditions.

Despite the disruption, over 2,100 students graduated from SABIS^® schools across the network in the summer of 2020, and received over 6,000 university offers from 44 countries around the world. In fact, 55% of the world’s top 200 universities as identified by the U.K. Times Educational Supplement accepted SABIS^® 2020 graduates.

Notable acceptances included The University of New South Wales and The University of Sydney in Australia, McGill and the University of Toronto in Canada, Aalto University in Finland, Pantheon Assas University Paris II in France, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Universität Heidelberg in Germany, The University of Hong Kong, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, Aichi Institute of Technology in Japan, Stockholms Universitet in Sweden, London School of Economics and Political Science and University of St. Andrews in the U.K., and Boston University and Georgetown University in the U.S.
